The Mothership offers a before-school program (The Sun Room) and an afterschool program (The Moon Room) which will be run by Launch Your Kid. By participating in The Sun and The Moon Programs, children will have the opportunity to collaborate, explore, move, craft and play!

Drop off begins at 8 am. Children will be escorted to their classroom at 8:45 am. You can drop off anytime after 8 am that is convenient to your family.
8:00-8:15 Drop-Off/Free Play No rush in getting here right on time…we will just play with friends and have fun getting settled for the day!
8:15-8:30 Morning Creative Movement Each week we will have a new fun story to tell which we will act out! This will be followed by more creative movement activities.
8:30-8:45 Coloring/Craft/Storytime We will spend time coloring or doing a small craft followed by a story that coordinates with the art activity.

1-1:30 Meditation/Quiet Time/Story Exploration All kids need downtime, especially after a busy preschool day. We will start our afternoon with a guided meditation. From there, children can choose to spend time looking at books or coloring.
1:30-2:00 Creative Movement/Fitness Games We will explore fun themes with creative movement stories and activities as well as some fun fitness games to encourage hand-eye coordination and locomotor development.
2:00-2:30 Snack and Outside Play We will have time to enjoy a snack brought from home while enjoying free time in nature.
2:30-3:00 Story Time/Singing/Yoga We will end our day with stories, songs and some gentle stretching and yoga. Namaste!

What time is the Sun Room? What time is the Moon Room?
The Sun Room provides before care from 8:00 am – 9:00 am.
The Moon Room provides after care from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
Who teaches the Sun and the Moon room?
Ms. Michael is our Sun/Moon Room manager. Two Mothership staff teachers will be the Sun Room and Moon Room teachers. All subs will be Mothership teachers.
How do I register?
Registration is handled by Launch Your Kid. Go to Online Registration Form > select “Charlotte” > select “The Mothership” > add the programs you need to your cart. Next, you will be prompted to create a parent login and password. Go to the cart to finish registration.
Can I sign up after the first of the month?
Yes! We would love to have your child at any point during the month. Just email payton@launchyourkid.com and she will provide you with a prorated price for the month. Enrollment is year-round however space is limited.
What is a day like in the Sun Room?
Each day is different as the teacher follows the child’s lead. Sometimes they have free play and sometimes the have structured activities. Here is a sample schedule:

My child needs a nap, how do you handle naps?
Due to the nature of our program, please note that we are not able to offer a napping room. In our Moon Room, children from all Mothership classrooms are combined in a mixed-age classroom. While we do modify our activities to be appropriate for all ages that join us, these activities are geared toward children in our Little Lunas, Little Dippers, Curious Comets, and Moonwalker classrooms who have given up their afternoon naps and have adjusted to not needing additional rest. We are unable to provide a separate dedicated room where children can be put down for a nap and watched individually by staff. If you register your child for the Moon Room and your child is unable to stay awake, they will not be allowed to return.
How does billing work?
We bill on a recurring basis monthly. Your card on file will be run once a month on the date that you register. You can cancel at any time by emailing payton@launchyourkid.com.
Will a month like December be pro-rated for the holiday break?
Tuition is not pro-rated for holidays/closings. The monthly price is based on the total number of school days in the year divided over the number of months school is in session.
If I register/pay in August will I be charged in September too?
Your August payment will cover September. If you register in August, payment for September will be skipped and your recurring payment schedule will resume in October.
What if my needs change, can I cancel my registration?
You can cancel by the 15th of the previous month to ensure you are not charged. For example, if you would like to stop care for November, you must email Payton by Oct 15th to avoid a charge. Please email payton@launchyourkid.com to cancel registrations.
